Happy birthday to me. Yee-haw.

Hi-de-ho, everybody. Here’s a Howdygram news bulletin for you.

I’m 66 years old today.

There are no special celebrations planned except for a nice hot shower, pickle & pimiento loaf on an onion roll for breakfast and maybe a chicken burrito from Chipotle — with extra hot sauce! — for dinner tonight if I can talk Sam into it. I’m saving a frozen Lou Malnati’s pizza for tomorrow. (It was a birthday gift from my BFF Sandi. God bless her.)

As much as I love Lou Malnati’s, I didn’t get what I really wanted for my birthday. Donald Trump is still in the White House!

I am also intensely pleased to post the following official Shit-O-Meter readout, which is probably the lowest it’s been for a couple of weeks or more. Hallelujah, y’all! Two days ago it registered a “10,” and I was so fucking miserable I wanted to scream. (Actually, I think I did scream. But I asked permission from Sam first so I wouldn’t terrify him.)

I forgot to post this yesterday:
Incidentally, while the rest of you have a wonderful time every year scaring the crap out of people at Halloween parties or banging on doors with your kids and grandchildren, please note that I am NOT a big fan of this holiday. I guess it all started when I was trick-or-treating in fifth grade way back in 1961, when I was barely ten years old, and everybody who answered the door said to me: “Aren’t you too old for this?”

It was devastating. I wasn’t too old ... I was too tall. And I had boobs. I WAS STILL A KID ON THE INSIDE AND I STILL WANTED YOUR GODDAMN TEENY HERSHEY BARS!

This will be a rather brief post today because I’ve got some design work planned for The Howdygram Store. I’m assembling some color collections for products in my Around the House category. Trust me … these are fabulous projects for creative senior citizens like yours truly with mobility issues and lousy knees. I also want to share a couple of The Howdygram Store’s newest products … matching Ceramic Bath Sets (soap pumps and toothbrush holders) and excellent Bath Mats in three convenient sizes to fit any bathroom. Both products can be found in my Around the House category along with adorable Throw Pillows, Night Lights, Wall Clocks, Recipe Binders and Light Switch Covers (in six configurations). Fantastic, right?!
Bath Towel Sets are next on my agenda for The Howdygram Store, and then I want to develop some custom-designed kitchen products … I’m considering Kitchen Towels, 28-oz. porcelain Soup Mugs, Acrylic Trays, Glass Cutting Boards and Wrapped LED Candles. Kindly stay tuned for more information. Thank you.

More new FREE FONTS! Woo-hoo! Today’s batch includes hand-drawn fonts, a couple of scripts, an elegant aged serif font — “Quoth” — that throws in a folder full of Edgar Allan Poe-ish raven illustrations, and an intensely useful condensed sans serif — “Neue Norm Round” — that I already use in the non-rounded version. (Both versions look practically identical.) My favorites here are “Tobacco” and “Pear Dragon.” I’ll provide download links after the graphic.

Here we have the useless ravens mentioned above (they’re free with the “Quoth” font download), some really gorgeous seamless tartan plaid backgrounds, a large collection of illustrated children (fabulous for greeting cards) and some adorable suitcase drawings that were included with today’s free “Spring” font. You never know when you’ll need illustrated suitcases!

And now it’s time to get back to some projects for The Howdygram Store. Today I want to add to my Ceramic Bath Sets and Bath Mats, which (by the way) would be excellent and affordable gifts for the holidays, and this is the perfect time to create a few more Christmas cards.
