I’ve been dicking around with the Howdygram again.

It’s 4:15 Wednesday morning here at Howdygram headquarters and I haven’t been to bed yet, although for four solid hours (from 10:30 last night till 2:30 a.m.) I was sprawled out on the chaise in the family room watching and sleeping through a couple of my favorite movies, namely The Rains Came (1939) starring George Brent, Tyrone Power and Myrna Loy, and The Seven Year Itch (1955) starring Tom Ewell and Marilyn Monroe.
I also want to mention a movie that Sam and I watched last night ... Death at a Funeral (2007) starring a bunch of very funny Brits you probably never heard of. IT’S AN AWESOME, HILARIOUS MOVIE and a total escape for beleaguered Americans — like yours truly, for instance — who are sick to death of current events. Here are a couple of photos from the film.
In case you need a quick synopsis, when the patriarch of a well-to-do but dysfunctional family dies unexpectedly, his youngest son Daniel is left to plan and supervise the funeral ... but just about everything gets fucked up, starting with the funeral home delivering the wrong casket for viewing. My favorite two characters are shown in the second photo (above), cousin Howard and Uncle Alfie, who have several outrageous scenes together that will make you spit your diet ginger ale across the room. I refuse to tell you anything else. Just see this movie! (Another plus ... you can understand everything being said, which isn’t always the case with Brit movies.)

Hey ... look at all these wonderful FREE FONTS! Today my list includes excellent scripts, beautiful display fonts and a fun dingbats doodad called “Asterisp” that I can use to make adorable border designs. I’ve also got the Strange Alphabets Font Bundle with at least 60 top-quality display fonts. I only installed three on my iMac but you’ll probably want more than I did. Some are very unusual. Download links appear after the graphic so you can snag these for your personal collection.

I’d also like to show you my new collection of seamless floral background patterns that includes a large file of coordinating bouquets. These were a giveaway on Monday from Creative Market. If you like them I’ll be glad to share. Just shoot me an email, okay?

A photo I thought y’all might enjoy. (I sure did.)
And one more!
I’m trying very hard not to get wrapped up in political commentary right now because I’m seriously afraid that too much information about the Trump regime will give me a brain hemorrhage. For instance, here are TRUMP’S TOP FIVE GODDAMN LIES about the Republican health insurance plan.
  1. We’re going to have insurance for everybody. 1/15/17
  2. Everybody’s got to be covered. I am going to take care of everybody. 9/27/16
  3. We’re gonna come up with a new plan that’s going to be better health care for more people at a lesser cost. 1/25/17
  4. The new plan is good. It’s going to be inexpensive. It’s going to be much better for the people at the bottom, the people who don’t have any money. 2/18/16
  5. You’re going to end up with great health care for a fraction of the price. And that’s going to take place immediately. 2/19/16
See what I mean? If I think about this for more than five minutes my brain starts to explode. WE HAVE TO GET THIS SHITHEAD OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. If you have any ideas, please let me know. Thank you.

I don’t know if you noticed this or not (and you’ll be forgiven if you didn’t), but I tweaked the Howdygram’s banner again with a new wood background and a new script font for my tag line: “Made in Texas for Friends, Relatives and Total Strangers Worldwide.” I also decided to update my post feature subheads — i.e., “Marcy’s Parade of Fonts” — with the same script.
Being completely upside-down, it’s presently 6 a.m., Sam is getting dressed for work and I’m ready to go to bed. I frequently try to get back on a normal schedule but I’ve always been a night owl and get most of my creative outbursts when it’s pitch black outside. It is what it is.

Thank you for reading this!
